Cropwell Bishop co-op staff make pizzas at CKOB October 10th 2014

Cropwell Bishop Youth Club – Pizza night with the Co-op October 10th 2014

At the Old School on October 10th, Guyle and Sanjay from Cropwell Bishop Co-op came to our village Youth Club, CKOB, to make pizzas with our members. All the ingredients were very kindly donated by the Co-op and the members really enjoyed getting stuck in! It was really good fun to have this visit and support from our local shop and both Guyle and Sanjay would have to admit that they enjoyed it too! We have even had an offer of volunteering in the future!

Thanks from all of us at CKOB to Guyle and Sanjay, and to the Co-op for their kind support.

Cropwell Bishop CKOB Nottingham Playhouse Panto trip

Those of you who came last year will remember what a great night we had on our group trip to the panto at the Playhouse. I am hoping to organise a similar bus trip, where we benefit greatly from reduced admission prices for our members and their families, to see this years production of Sleeping Beauty. Details to follow shortly.......

Cropwell Bishop CKOB - Revised date

Please be advised of a change of date for the next CKOB session. Our September 5th evening has been moved to September 12th due to the Old School being needed to set up for the horticultural show. This will also be the night when we invite our next group of potential members, ie. those children moving into year 6 at primary school. Existing members are welcome to attend  as normal to show them the ropes!

Cropwell Bishop CKOB Celebration weekend - Saturday 5th July

As part of the village celebration weekend we shall be opening our doors to the public and our members between 11.00am and 1.45pm.
There is no admission fee and all activities and crafts are free to everyone, to have a go and see what we do on a Friday evening.
There will be a bouncy castle for the younger ones and a bouncy bungee  run for the older children, both of which are being supplied by Mousy Browns. This will be available until 1pm.
We shall be serving light refreshments, tea and cakes, and the very finest hotdogs from our local butcher Gary Jowett, who continues to very generously support Youth Club.
At 1.45pm when we finish, you will be able to follow the school parade up Stockwell Lane to the school summer fair to continue the festivities.
We would be really grateful of any donation of cakes or biscuits we could sell to our visitors in the morning please. We have had baking lessons at Youth Club so you should all be very capable! Please let Jo know if you will be available to provide anything so I can arrange to pick it up. Many thanks!

Village Celebration Weekend

At the village celebration weekend this summer we will be opening our doors to show the villagers what we get up to at CKOB club. There will be refreshments available and hopefully some external entertainment... plans still afoot!

Easter Cake Making

Many thanks to Mrs Allcock for coming to CKOB on 11th April and showing the members how to make and decorate Easter biscuits, cakes and nests. Many wonderful creations were made, and duly consumed!

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

We presently have three young adults helping us at our sessions as part of their Bronze award. Claudia, Pierce and Will help set up, supervise and organise our evenings and we are very grateful for their help and happy to be able to support them in the scheme.

Volunteers required!

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of our members, it is necessary to have at least 7 supervisors for our sessions.  This is an ongoing struggle! We are enormously grateful to Angela Hallam, Jane Miller, Alan Wilson, Elaine Mellor, Jess Molineaux, Howard Shinn, Juliet Coats and Natalie Pearson who regularly give up their time to keep us going.

If you are able to help, either regularly or as a reserve, please contact Jo Wroughton.

Telephone: 07891 694541

Many thanks.
